SarovarHydrogel

Hold water where the roots are.

Sarovar Hydrogel makes super absorbent polymers for Indian farms, nurseries and industry, and helps you choose the right grade and dose. Promoted from Nashik since 2016.

One gram of agricultural hydrogel can hold hundreds of grams of water in pure water conditions, and gives it back to roots as the soil dries.

How hydrogel works in soil
Hydrogel in the root zone of a drip-irrigated vineA cross-section of soil under a drip line. Inside the wetting zone below each dripper, hydrogel granules have swollen into gel next to the roots. Further away, dry granules wait to absorb water at the next irrigation.

Four routes through the site, depending on who you are.

Five product lines, one chemistry family

All are cross-linked polymers. They differ in counter-ion, crosslinking and form — which decides where each belongs.

Absorption values are indicative for the polymer class; the Technical Data Sheet for each grade governs.

Absorb, hold, release, repeat

What one granule does in the root zone across each irrigation.

  1. Step 1 of 4

    Absorb

Irrigation or rain reaches the granule. It swells into gel within minutes to hours.

  2. Step 2 of 4

    Hold

Water that would drain below the roots or evaporate stays in the gel.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    Release

As the soil dries, roots draw water back out of the gel.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    Repeat

The granule shrinks, then re-absorbs at the next watering — for many cycles.

A Nashik brand, built in the field

Sarovar Hydrogel has been promoted to growers since 2016 by Sarovar Agro Group, from Nashik — a district where grapes, pomegranate and onion are grown on light murrum and heavy black soils, and where every irrigation counts.

We publish our record as it is documented: dated product records, field demonstrations and test results. Where a claim isn't backed yet, this site says so.
